To date no contracts have been signed or any agreements finalized. Reason being,
agents representing talent will usually require what is known as a "Pay to Play" contact. This type of contract requires a formal agreement stipulating filming dates and the agreed salary, etc. This type of contract also stipulates that the talent (the actor artist) will be paid according to the contractual agreement on the date stipulated even if the production/movie is never made.
As a good business practice a production company will usually not make an offer with this type of contract until the production is ready to go into production.
For "The Gangster Zone" we have made contact with actors we have interest in
for the leading roles during the early stages of pre-production to try and gain the actor's interest.
Some actors have already read the screenplay and have shown interest in playing a particular character and have agreed to allow us to use their name or names to help with our funding.
In some circumstances the agents or managers representing talent will accept a screenplay for their artist/actor to read in advance, and in many cases they will not.
Depending on who is producing or directing, many representatives will first require a "Pay to Play" contract before giving an actor the screenplay. They recieve so many offers that they will not even tell an actor about a film or a role without a legitimate offer.
If a production company is not ready to make a formal offer the common response will be... "Great! At this stage of the production, we are not ready to do that and if it agreeable with you we will get back to you when we are ready to make a legitimate offer.
The following actor's representative, agent and or manager have been contacted about our interest in an actor they represent to play one of the lead roles or co-leading roles in our film production of "The Gangster Zone".
